Making Change Out Of Five Dollars... (We raised GBP 320 + SGD 1,230 for SCOPE and CARE, so thank you!)
The $5 Challenge – One of our founders, Ian Pryor, will be living for 4 weeks with a budget of just SGD120 for all his food and drink, and travel. This is equivalent to an average daily budget of just SGD5 (c. GBP 2.40)!! Only exception is one day (for a wedding already committed to) and travel to and from business meetings (though he will still have tap water only at these!). He will not accept free food or drinks, or lifts from people. This will be tough but it's for a worthy cause!
The purpose of the challenge is to firstly test his will power, but also to raise money for great charities that help put smiles on the faces of children! There are 3 ways to sponsor Ian / donate and support this cause:
1. Donate to The Pryor Foundation. Please message us at ThePryorFoundation@Hotmail.com or hit the 'CONTACT US' tab above. Donations will go to a combination of our chosen charities at our discretion. Hit on 'CHARITIES & SUPPORTERS' above for more info.
2. Via GIVEasia. http://www.giveasia.org/movement/making_change_out_of_five_dollars
This is an excellent website which ensures 100% of your donations go direct to charity. It's quick and easy to use. Please also opt for the additional, optional, small donation to GIVEasia. These keep them running and able to ensure it's the charities that get the funds in full. Singapore residents can make donations that are income tax deductible, but anyone from anywhere can donate! We've chosen CARE to be the beneficiary, which is a charity in Singapore trying to help vulnerable young people find direction, hope and success. Please donate generously!
3. Via Virgin Money Giving. http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/ThePryorFoundation
Another great donations medium. They are not-for-profit and ensure around 98% of your donations go direct to the charities. Many donations qualify for Gift Aid. Our chosen charity to support is SCOPE. SCOPE is a charity we are very familiar with, really making a difference to disabled children's lives in the UK. Ju-Li Pryor, part of the Pryor family, stayed in a SCOPE home (Orchard Manor) for a few years and it really is a fantastic place!
Please donate generously, leave comments on the sites, and of course help raise awareness via social media! We are on Facebook, please 'like' using the link at the top of the page.
